Rancheria Land & Livestock, our commercial cow-calf operation, plays an important role in the Bar KJ program. Running cattle across the rugged foothills of the southern Sierra Nevada gives us the opportunity to see firsthand what works — and what doesn’t.
The same fundamentals we value at Bar KJ matter at Rancheria: sound structure, maternal strength, longevity, and the ability to travel, maintain condition, and raise a quality calf year after year. These cattle are expected to cover big country and perform in challenging terrain, making functionality more than a breeding goal — it’s a necessity.
